Congratulations to those of our members flying the Auckland club flag.  KZ2 saw Ryan Grant & Graeme Smyth finish 2nd & 3rd in this class.  To those of you not quite making the podium your efforts do not go without note & we hope to see you again at this prestigous event next year.

Last weekend saw Kane Taylor & Anthony Murch head off to the Rotax Challenge.  Both drivers achieveing top 10 finishes in their classes -

Kane 3rd in Rotax Light & Anthony 8th in Rotax Heavy.

The Challenge will be in Auckland late August in conjunction with the Pro-Kart Series; a chance to see & support our Auckland drivers.

Kane & Anthony were in Hamilton over the May 6th weekend for the Hamilton round of the Max Challenge. 

Kane qualified in the top 6 & moved up throughout the heats & pre-final; culminating in a second place finish in the final.

Anthony, while not qualifying well also moved forward through the day, sneaking into the top 10 in the final.

Olly is able to put together dvds for individual drivers that can be used to attract potential sponsors or bring up their driver profile – they would also make really neat presents for friends & family.  They could also be embedded into your website or facebook page.

Joel Herbert put in a flying second qualifying  run to gain pole in KF3 for the heats &  Arran Crighton drove like he was possessed all weekend & won the final.

The Masters section of KZ2 saw Brett Hollander having a not so great weekend by his normal standards but the Wheeler Boyz – Mark & Todd – were in the top half of the field all weekend.

Ryan Grant qualified fastest in KZ2 & aside from finishing second in the first heat won everything else comfortably.  Graeme Smyth, joining the series at round 2 improved as the weekend wore on.  Finishing 4th in the final, with a determined drive from the rear of the field, & 3rd overall for the round points.

These guys have a break now until BoP in July & they rock up to Auckland track in August.

Top Half will kick off the 2012 series in Hamilton on March 10th/11th.

For those of you who have not had the Top Half experience – go give it a go.  Great fun to be had & new friends to be made.

It is also a very good opportunity for a run at the Hamilton track prior to the Nationals.
