Reverse direction is up and running!!!
Wasn’t it great!
The biggest issue in Race Control for the day was looking right and wondering “where the !#*%$ are the drivers?”
We did manage to find you all. Eventually.
It was a wonderful “test” for the reverse direction; we had both dry & wet conditions through the day and the class sizes ranged from 6 through to 20.
As predicted, the Cadet Class went down to the wire. Jacob Smith & Alex Edwards finished round two with tied points for the day. Jacob took the win on countback and also the Burger Fuel Series; by just one point from Joe Ganley with Alex just one point back in third.
Jacob’s Mum had the privilege of being able to wave the chequered flag for one of his race wins. We think she got some waves from the drivers as they crossed the finish line - but don’t tell the stewards!
Kalbe Currie wasn’t able to repeat his clean sweep performance in JR’s from round 1, but drove well and took the days win from CJ Sinclair and Joel Herbert, who joined the fray for round 2. It was Kaleb & CJ one & two for the series with Kaitlyn Wonnacott in third.
Adam Davis went one better in round 2 of the Junior Yamaha class, taking the days win from Jack Barker & Matt Higham. Nicholas Carpenter, the round 1 winner finished fourth. Overall it was Adam from Nicholas and Jack.
Scott Reddish continued to stamp his authority on the Formula Junior class, adding round 2 to his round 1 win and taking the series overall. Scott beat out all the Sean/Shaun ‘s in this class - Sean Hurley in 2 nd, Shaun Varney in 3 rd & Shaun Morris in 4 th. Overall minor placings went to Shaun Varney & Adam Davis.
We put all the Senior Yamahas together on track once again and the racing was great.
Lights went to Deon Forrest from Nigel Kurtz & Phil Green. Overall, Deon took the series win from Phil, with Matt Wallace in third.
The round 2 result of Heavys reflected the overall result as well - Leyton Kendall in first, Alan Dunkley in second & Shaun Curran third.
It was the same in Club Class with round 2 results being the same as the overall. Scott Maynard first, Sharn Connor, second and Jaceon McMurtrie, third.
Alan Sherris had the measure of Whitney Claxton this round in Rotax Light and took the round win with a slightly larger margin than round 1. Sean Sparg repeated his third placing from round 1 and this was the way the overall series result went as well.
We have the Seans and Shauns in Formula J - we have the Garry’s in Rotax Heavy. Really close result for round 2 between Garry Claxton & Garry Cullum - just one point in it. Garry won. Josh Hookway was third.
Overall, Garry won again!
Open Class saw Jody Vincent again trade the Porsche for a kart; Jody took the round 2 and series win. Alex McClennan, despite packing up cos it rained, finished round 2 in second place and Joel Thrupp took third. Overall, Joel finished in second behind Jody with James Jackson in third.
