In case no-one had noticed; winters here. It arrived with a vengeance the week preceding Trophy Day and Sunday had little improvement,
Being the largest class of the day, Cadets contested the St Johns Shield. The days win went to Jacob Smith, who had a grin from ear to ear, from Alex Edwards and Finley McLaren.
Nicholas Carpenter won the JR class from Luke Dobbs, with Aimee Rutherford in third & Samuel Carpenter fourth.
The Junior Yamaha Class were competing for the second of the days trophies, the Motul Cup. Adam Davis took the trophy with an almost clean sweep from Jack Barker & James Wood.
Adam did make it a clean sweep in the Formula Junior Class, winning the double! Second in Formula Junior was Shaun Morris and third, Jake Bonney.
Not a Yamaha Heavy in sight this meeting but plenty of Lights & Club Class contenders provided some exciting racing. Gary Taylor took the days win in Club Class from Scott Burkhart & Shaun Curran while Michael Boyle conquered the Lights, taking the win in that class from Nigel Kurtz & Todd Jolly.
Our Rotax Heavy class provided some great competition; so much so that this was the class that the Crawford Cup contenders were elected from - Steve Cox, Garry Claxton & Garry Cullum. To make the 3-lap shoot out a bit more challenging we made these guys start ‘ Le Mans’ style. Steve Cox won the Crawford Cup and went on to take out the Rotax Heavy class days win as well. Garry Claxton was second for the day, with Garry Cullum third.
