Race Weekend Parking Etiquette

On race weekend, there unfortunately is no room for general parking beyond the main public car park at Colin Dale Park. The limited exceptions are:

  • Our wonderful officials
  • Our wonderful kitchen manager and her helpers
  • Those without a trailer working out of a vehicle
  • Those with a mobility tag

If you are dropping off a trailer, please unhook and immediately move your vehicle down to the public car park so the next trailer can be pitted.

Q&A - Parking Etiquette

Q: There is plenty of grassed area near the track, why can't we park there?

A: The grassed pit area we are currently using is not our designated pit area. It has been kindly made available to us on the condition that we do not park vehicles on it. Our pits are further along, on the not-yet-developed grass (with the metal roads through it). This land is too unstable to park on and could be easily damaged, including by contaminating the metal areas with mud (i.e., potentially costing us repair money we don't have).

Q: Why do I need to immediately unhook and move my vehicle to the public car park?

A: While your vehicle remains in the pit area, it is either blocking access or parked in another pit site, the latter forcing others to unnecessarily pit further away.

Q: But my tool box is bolted to my vehicle?

A: You may park a trailer or a vehicle you are working out of in the pit area, not both.  We recommend that if you choose to park your trailer in the pit area you take the limited number of tools you need fpr Karting out of your bolted toolbox and put them in your kart trailer.
